Version 3.0 of Premier Spreadsheet Auditing Software Offers Change Reports,
Region Approval Wizard and Cross-Workbook Alerts as well as Supports Microsoft Windows 7

Saratoga, Calif. (Business Wire) – April 28, 2010Incisive, a developer of enterprise-class spreadsheet analysis and management solutions, today announced that Validate 3.0 has completed its successful beta program and is now available for purchase. Version 3.0 delivers a new suite of tools designed to more efficiently identify and manage spreadsheet risk within an organization. These tools include Change Reports which highlights and describes cells that have been changed after an audit, a Region Approval Wizard that groups regions by similar formulae and lets users approve several formulas at once based on patterns, and cross-workbook functionality that alerts users when linked workbooks have been changed. In addition, Validate 3.0 now supports Microsoft Windows 7.

“For companies that want to proactively improve their monitoring and managing of spreadsheet risk, Validate 3.0 is a superb solution,” said Dwayne Stevens, senior IT auditor at Community Trust Bank and Validate beta tester. “I see many company applications for Validate 3.0, specifically at the departmental level, such as finance, where critical information needs to be documented and approved. Validate 3.0 helps identify potential failures, especially for areas where important information is continually updated.” As the premier spreadsheet auditing software application, Validate is a computer aided audit tool (CAAT) that seamlessly complements Microsoft Excel and provides auditors with the ability to quickly and easily review Excel spreadsheet data, such as formulas and logic. Validate helps authenticate information by identifying and managing spreadsheet risk and risk oversight.

Validate 3.0 offers a new suite of tools designed to simplify the maintainability and review time of previously audited spreadsheets. The Change Report feature provides an account of all spreadsheet changes that have occurred since its last audit, so auditors and supervisors can continually manage the risk involved with changing formulas and data. It displays cell changes and details about why the changes occurred. After these cells are re-approved, a report can be generated that lists all changes and actions. The Region Approval Wizard lets users save time by quickly approving similar formulas. Validate 3.0 recognizes formula patterns within a spreadsheet and groups them so auditors can quickly see the patterns and approve formulas together.

Version 3.0 also offers new cross-workbook functionality that alerts users when changes have been made to linked workbooks. The Audit Change Summary lets users see in a single view what changed in a spreadsheet since the last baseline audit. Cleared approvals may be reapplied, too. The new Progress Panel clearly shows audit statistics, such as new/lost cell traces and new/lost region approvals. Finally, the History Panel gives users the ability to see changing audit information, such as added traces or removed approvals. All of these features assist auditors in tracking changes made to critical spreadsheet information in order to manage risk across the organization.

Other new Validate 3.0 features include support for Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007 and Google Spreadsheets. Validate 3.0 also offers new investigative capabilities, such as saving traces for future audits and performing an automatic “unhide” of hidden data.

Validate 3.0 is available today for a purchase price of $699. Other Incisive solutions include Xcellerator, the premier spreadsheet analysis application, and Incisive Online, the industry’s first spreadsheet analysis and management software as a service.
